Four Haikus and a Free Verse!
Untitled 1:
sprung from the tummy
off to the races; bloodworms
red, squishy: dinner!
Untitled 2:
my love loves deep red
and says he would be a wolf
if given the chance
Untitled 3:
the rain stopped falling
would you dare to meet me there?
by the puffer’s pond?
Untitled 4:
devil’s ivy vines
curling upon my breast, and
running through my veins
The Education of a Woman
there were cherries on the door
a sculpture of a woman, the most important of her forms; engorged breasts,
stomach, thighs
an Egyptian cat on the shelf
Hints of power
“do you understand what I am saying?
are you listening to me? When you stand
between sublime nature and civilization
which do you choose?
You cannot stay here.”
The world is falling apart now
we had not finished our lesson
I interpret my forms differently without you
influencing the fluidity of my movements
